Biomechanical investigation of the effects of various treatment options on the talus in supination external rotation type 4 ankle injuries with ruptured deltoid ligament: Finite element analysis

Purpose: The purpose of this study is the biomechanical investigation rotation, stress and deformation caused in talus, under a specific load, by various fixation methods ankle which has supination external rotation (SER) injury deltoid rupture.
 Method: Ankle healthy individual was analyzed with help package program based on finite elements method (FEM). Then, SER model created. Lateral malleolar plate fixed screw created different repair models for fit. In analysis section, forces obtained from literature were applied to repaired models. As result analyses, mechanical values occured talus obtained.
 Results: study, changes by, (in order) ligament repair, suture button syndesmosis fixation, transfixation screw, + type 4 rupture, evaluated.
 Conlusion: This showed that application together treatment injuries rupture made regression, displacement rotations almost normal. addition, applications give better results than applications.
